FAQ

  • What is expressive arts?

Expressive arts is a playful, creative way for children and teens to explore their inner world through painting, movement, storytelling, music, collage, and imagination. It’s not about making perfect art - it’s about expression, confidence, emotional awareness, and discovering the power within.

  • Do the workshops require artistic skill?

Not at all. Every young person is welcome - from doodlers to dreamers to kids who say, “I can’t draw.” All of our activities are designed to be open, playful, and pressure-free.

  • What happens during a typical session?

Each workshop unfolds gently and includes:

    - A warm welcome + settling activity

    - A theme or prompt for the day

    - A creative exploration (art, movement, storytelling, etc.)

    - Optional reflection or sharing (never forced!)

    - A closing ritual of gratitude or quiet grounding

The entire experience is designed to feel safe, imaginative, and empowering.

  • Do parents stay during the session?

Parents are welcome to step inside the studio to get a feel for the space, but sessions are designed for youth only. This helps children and teens explore freely and independently.

  • What should my child bring?

Just a water bottle and clothing that can get a little artsy! All materials are provided.

  • How do I book a session?

Visit the Schedule on our website, choose the workshop you love, and reserve your spot through our scheduling page. It’s quick and simple.

  • Do you offer private sessions?

Yes. One-on-one expressive arts sessions can be arranged for children or teens who need a more personal, focused experience. Just reach out through one of our contact forms.

  • How do you ensure safety in the studio?

We maintain small group sizes, use trauma-aware and developmentally sensitive practices, and create a calm, structured environment where youth can express themselves freely and safely. All materials are non-toxic, and the studio is kept clean and welcoming.
